NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday gave a sneak peek into his after-retirement life, saying that he will devote his time to reading Hindu scriptures, including the Vedas and Upanishads and natural farming.
Speaking at 'Sahkar Samvaad' event in Gujarat's Ahmedabad, Shah said that he has plans to dedicate his life to Vedas, Upnishads and natural farming post-retirement.
Natural farming is a science-based technique which has immense benefits, he added.
"Wheat grown with chemical fertilisers leads to various health issues, including many lifestyle disorders like BP, diabetes, thyroid and life-threatening diseases like cancer," Shah said.
"Natural farming not only helps in making the body disease-free but also reduces one's dependence on medicines," he added.
Further, the BJP leader shared his own experience of recording a 1.5 times jump in agricultural produce at his farmland, asserting that natural farming enhances agricultural productivity.
