NEW DELHI: Calling PM Narendra Modi a "master distorian", Congress on Tuesday said he is criticising Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniversary and resorting to 'filmi' dialogues to divert attention from serious questions about the Pahalgam terror attack like failure to arrest the four perpetrators, silence on US President Donald Trump's repeated claims about "ceasefire" and the growing hyphenation between India and Pakistan.
Congress said the opposition MPs, as part of a global outreach, are conveying the country's stand on terrorism much more effectively, while BJP members are "spreading hate and division in line with Pakistan's wishes".
Claiming the Modi govt is "run, inspired and operated by trolls", party spokesperson Pawan Khera said the failure of foreign policy in rebuffing the "hyphenation" between India and Pakistan is evident in the way Kuwait and the UAE have removed visa restrictions on Pakistani citizens. Khera said there has been a strong contrast in the way BJP members have behaved after the Pahalgam attack and the actions of opposition members. Taking a job at the PM, he Modi has been busy delivering dialogues like "Prem Chopra and Paresh Rawal".
Party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh asked, "Why is PM quiet on the deep military nexus between China & Pakistan, that has now become more apparent than ever before..."
