JAMMU: J&K lieutenant-governor Manoj Sinha paid tributes Sunday to Army rifleman Sunil Kumar and BSF sub-inspector Mohammed Imteyaz , who died after being hit in Pakistani shelling in RS Pura sector the previous day.
Sinha also visited the family of Raj Kumar Thapa, Rajouri’s additional district development commissioner who died in shelling from across the border on Saturday.
Paying tributes to Sunil, who hailed from Arnia in Jammu, Sinha posted on X: “India will never forget his selfless service and supreme sacrifice. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved family.” The LG also saluted Imteyaz’s sacrifice, saying “his valour and sacrifice will never be forgotten”.
Later, Sinha met the family of Thapa at their Jammu home, describing him as a distinguished public servant who worked assiduously to fulfil the aspirations of the people. “Thapa’s contribution to J&K’s development is immense. My thoughts and prayers are with his family,” the LG said.
