NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his United Kingdom counterpart Keir Starmer were brewing their friendship over a cup of tea, soon after they signed the Free Trade deal.
PM Modi , who was in the UK for a two-day trip, had a " chai pe charcha " with the UK counterpart and said that they are brewing stronger India-UK ties!

Earlier, the India-UK Free Trade Agreement was signed and formalised. The deal was signed by commerce minister Piyush Goyal and Jonathan Reynold, his British counterpart.
The strong rapport between PM Modi and Starmer was evident during their joint media briefing in London on Thursday, following their bilateral discussions.
During the press interaction, when interpreters were facilitating translations, Prime Minister Modi casually remarked, "Don't bother, we can use English words in between. Don't worry about it."
With a warm smile, Starmer acknowledged, "I think we understand each other well."
The cordial exchange created a positive atmosphere for their interaction, where Prime Minister Modi discussed the India-UK relationship using references from cricket, stating, "There may be a swing and a miss at times but we always play with a straight bat." He emphasised that both nations are focused on developing a robust and productive partnership.
