SRINAGAR: The Dalai Lama Monday praised Ladakh for its development and the warm hospitality extended to him during his six-week visit to the region. He will leave for Delhi Tuesday.
Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) chairman Tashi Gyalson said he received the message from the Dalai Lama that was conveyed by his chief representative. “He (Dalai Lama) lauded the progress in the region, particularly in the fields of economy and education, and praised the faith and devotion of the people of Ladakh,” Gyalson said.
“His Holiness also extended gratitude to LAHDC, Leh for providing Tibetan refugees in Ladakh with new basic facilities and amenities under the welfare schemes of the Union Territory in the recent year,” he added.
The Dalai Lama flew to Leh, Ladakh from Dharamshala on July 12.
