Canacona: New Vaddem resident Ezabelato Fernandes, 64, died on Tuesday after falling from his motorcycle at Khalwadem, Canacona, while heading for work.
According to eyewitnesses, two bulls were fighting on the road. After waiting a while, Fernandes attempted to cross, but the fight intensified, causing him to fall.
Canacona PI Harish Raut Desai said Fernandes was taken to Canacona health centre where he was declared brought dead. Police conducted a panchnama and sent the body for preservation. The postmortem examination was done on Wednesday, and the body was handed to the family for final rites.
Police registered a case of unnatural death under section 194 of BNS. Further investigation is under way.
Villagers highlighted that govt has failed to recognise the threat of stray cattle fights, even after multiple deaths.
