Bhopal: A 21-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped, forcibly married and gang raped by three youths after she refused to withdraw an old molestation case against one of the accused. Police have registered a case against three accused who are currently absconding.
According to the complaint, the victim had previously filed a molestation complaint against Kalu alias Anil Balmik, who resides in Gwalior. On March 23rd, the accused allegedly intercepted the woman and pressured her to reach a compromise in the molestation case.
When she refused, Kalu, along with his two friends, Mukeem and Dinku alias Aamir Khan, forcibly dragged her into an ambulance and made her inhale an unknown substance, causing her to lose consciousness.
The victim stated that upon regaining consciousness, she found herself at the Shiva temple in Orchha. When she protested against a forced marriage, the accused threatened to kill her father and brother.
The victim recounted to the police that Kalu forcibly applied vermillion to her forehead and made her wear toe rings in the temple. Following this, they transported her to Gwalior in the same ambulance and kept her in the Lakkar Khana area.
Later that night, they took her to an empty house where Kalu Balmik allegedly raped her first, followed by Mukim and Dinku in turns. Afterward, they brought her back to the Lakkar Khana residence and held her there overnight.
Meanwhile, the victim's family had reported her disappearance to the Jhansi Road police station on March 23rd, and a missing person report was officially registered on March 24th.
On March 25, 2025, the victim was taken to court to record her statement in the initial molestation case against Kalu Balmik. The victim stated that Kalu himself brought her to court after threatening to kill her father.
Under duress, she gave statements in favor of the accused. Subsequently, the accused left her near the Jhansi Road police station after warning her of dire consequences if she revealed anything. Out of fear, the victim initially told the police that she had gone to a friend's house.
Due to the missing person report, the police presented the recovered victim in court on March 25th. After staying at a govt facility for one month and eight days, she returned home. Fearful of Kalu, she kept the ordeal a secret from her family for a significant period. Finally, on May 5th, she gathered the courage to disclose the entire incident to her family, who immediately took her to the police station that night.
