Running out of phone battery is one of modern life's biggest inconveniences. However, brands like Anker sell a variety of portable chargers that offer peace of mind, including the pocket-sized that's a great travel companion.
Shoppers can currently get £8 off the handy gadget thanks to a special discount that's automatically applied at the checkout. This brings the price of the power bank down from £29.99 to £21.99, making it cheaper than where the device costs £29.99.
The Anker charger is available in five stylish colours and offers 'all-day power', with one shopper declaring it a 'must-have for any trip'. The power bank has two ports which provide 'high-speed charging', including a foldable USB-C connector that's compatible with a variety of iPhone, Samsung and Huawei smartphones, plus iPads, AirPods and more.
Thanks to the gadget's convenient two-port design, and a device can be charged at the same time. The portable charger has also been designed so that users don't have to remove their phone case in order to connect it.
For shoppers wanting to explore more power bank options, Amazon is selling a slightly bigger for £14.24 that has four built-in cables and two ports. If a small-sized power bank isn't a priority, Argos is currently offering the larger on sale for £15.99, which can charge three devices at once.
The Daily Express , with writer Tiffany Lo saying: "It charges up my iPhone 15 Pro Max pretty quickly. One full charge takes about one-fourth of the battery, but when I used it on my old Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2, it used nearly half of the power bank battery to charge it to full. Given it's a smartphone with battery degradation, I was happy that the Anker power bank could hold two full charges."
She continued: "In terms of size and weight, it's probably the lightest of all the power banks I own... Having said that, the Anker charger is not MagSafe compatible and the foldable USB-C connector can get in your way and also makes the bottom of the phone very heavy. There were several occasions that the connector bent and dislodged while I was charging the phone. Based on the small capacity, I would say the is best for a quick top-up when the phone battery drops to half empty."
Over 200 Anker customers have reviewed the power bank to date, with one buyer rating it five stars and commenting: "One of the best gadgets I have purchased. A must-have for any trip. Charges very fast, as it is quite powerful."
However, one shopper was left unimpressed, as they explained: "Adds about 40-50% to my phone which itself has a 5000mah battery. Disappointing but still just about does the job for me when I need it. Size is handy and fairly lightweight to carry in your pocket."
Another happy buyer wrote: "Incredibly convenient size. Fits perfectly in pocket/bag. Charges quickly. Have owned many Anker chargers over the last 10 years and have never bought another brand. Highest quality and standard for power banks."
