Snow is expected in several parts of the UK as weather maps have turned white for later this month. WXCharts maps, prepared using MetDesk data, show that the temperature levels will plummet to 0C as freezing conditions hammer several areas on October 25.
According to the weather charts, the unsettled conditions will hit the country at around 12pm that day, when heavy rain showers and winds will begin to enter the UK from the south. However, by the evening, around 6pm, the cold temperatures will move to the northern parts of the country, with many areas in Scotland witnessing the snowfall. Areas around Inverness, Fort William and Portree will receive the snowfall upto 10 cm which means almost four inches.
Temperatures are also expected to plummet to 0C in areas around Inverness, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Wick. Parts of Newcastle, York, Yorkshire, and Middlesbrough will see a minimum temperature of around 2C.
However, other areas in the South, such as London, Birmingham, Gloucester, Southampton, and Plymouth, will see temperature levels oscillate between 9 and 11C during the same day. While these areas will not experience any snow, according to the maps, heavy rain will bring unsettled conditions to them.
The Met Office's long-range forecast between October 24 and November 7 reads: "This period is likely to see changeable conditions across the UK with low-pressure systems tending to dominate. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, perhaps heavy in places. Temperatures will probably be close to normal."
Today:
A largely dry and bright day today across eastern Scotland. Elsewhere, a few fog patches across eastern England at first, otherwise largely cloudy with some spots of rain or drizzle in central and northwestern areas.
Tonight:
Cloud tending to thin and break up overnight, particularly in northern and central areas, allowing some fog patches to develop. Turning chilly under any clearer skies.
Saturday:
Cloudy and breezy across northern Scotland with some patchy rain. Otherwise largely cloudy in the south, but any fog elsewhere lifting to leave a dry day with sunny spells.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Mainly dry on Sunday with early fog lifting to give sunny spells for many. Turning rather cloudy early next week, with some patchy light rain, mainly in the east.
