A gripping psychological thriller is hailed as a "masterpiece" by fans and is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The Invitation (2015) tells the story of Will (played by Logan Marshall-Green), who goes to dinner at the home of his ex-wife, Eden (Tammy Blanchard), along with his new girlfriend, Kira (Emayatzy Corinealdi).

Eden and Will split up after a traumatic event, after which she met her new husband, David (Michiel Huisman), at a support group. As the evening progresses, Will becomes suspicious that something sinister is going on, and the party's guests may be at risk.

The movie, not to be confused with the 2022 horror film of the same name, was written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, and directed by Karyn Kiyoko Kusama, known for the films including Destroyer, and cult classic Jennifer's Body.

Another said the film is a "masterpiece, let's just start with that". They added that The Invitation "will keep you guessing up until the very end and even then will throw you through more loops".

"It's shot so beautifully, perfectly playing with angles and makes you feel unsettled. The music is so on point with gradually building and contributes to the feeling of unease and dread."
