Motorists on the M23 faced major delays this morning after a police-led incident prompted a partial closure of the motorway in both directions. On Wednesday morning, an incident on the northbound carriage prompted the closure between J9 (Gatwick Airport) and J8 Redhill.
Just after 7am, National Highways said travellers should expect around 60 minutes of delays northbound, in a blow to holidaymakers trying to reach Gatwick Airport. Surrey Police, the organisation added, was attending the scene.
