There's a hidden gem in Dick and Angel Strawbridge's magnificent estate that Channel 4 viewers of Escape To The Chateau have yet to discover.

The British couple, along with their family, captured the hearts of audiences when the reality show first aired in 2016. They purchased a 19th-century French chateau and embarked on an ambitious renovation project while raising two young children and managing a wedding and event planning business.

The programme was a resounding success, running for nine series until 2022. Following their television triumph, the Strawbridge's launched their popular podcast in 2023, aptly named Dick and Angel's CHAT...EAU.

Despite regular updates on their evolving home through the show and podcast, there remains one area yet to be unveiled.

A recent Instagram post from the family sparked intrigue as they shared a glimpse of what seemed to be a secret garden, previously unseen by fans, reports the Mirror.

In the photo, 65-year-old Dick is seen enjoying quality time with his two children in a picturesque vegetable garden set amidst rustic surroundings.

It appears that Arthur, 13, and Dorothy, 11, are assisting their father in harvesting some of their home-grown produce, ready for the picking.

The photograph revealing their exquisite residence also showed the vegetable patch, surprisingly close to their home despite the vast 12-acre estate.

This secluded spot, shielded by lofty trees and walls that echo the design of their house, might clarify why it had remained a hidden gem from admirers until this moment.

Their garden thrives, especially in the summer, with verdant vegetables sprouting from orderly wooden beds, all set amidst pathways lined with beautiful blooms.

Despite the idyllic portrayal of their chateau lifestyle, the family's overseas adventures haven't always been smooth sailing.

In March, Channel 4 announced a new spin-off series, notably without Dick and Angel's involvement.

Following the news, the couple addressed their followers on Instagram with a post of a house design, conspicuously overlooking the recent announcement.

They wrote: "A very good morning to you! We're busy...lots of changes and lots of activity at the Chateau! Any guesses? To keep up to date with what's happening in our world, sign up to our newsletter! Link in bio! Have a terrific Tuesday! Xxx."

Channel 4 has since confirmed the launch of Chateau DIY: Win The Dream, with Spark media North collaborating with the production company.

The show features 12 couples competing against each other with the aim of winning their own chateau in France. It's a follow-up to Chateau DIY, which debuted in 2018 and chronicled the journeys of families renovating homes in France.

All series of Escape To The Chateau are available to stream on Channel 4.
