A political commentator has said a video of rap punk duo Bob Vylan performing at Glastonbury Festival will be used as Reform UK's next campaign video. The act called for "death" to the Israeli military during their controversial set, which was broadcast live on the BBC.
Bob Vylan addressed the BBC's decision not to show Kneecap's performance on live TV during their appearance. Footage of the performance was shared by Patrick Christys, a presenter for GB News, on X who said it will "probably be used as Reform's campaign video" ahead of the next General Election. Reform leader Nigel Farage responded saying: "If you vote Reform you can have your country back from these lunatics."
It comes after the BBC refused to air Kneecap's performance at the Glastonbury Festival. Sir Keir Starmer said their performance would not be "appropriate" after one of the members was charged with a terror offence.
However, the BBC is now in crisis after the Bob Vylan set was aired and the frontman called for solidarity with bands that "use their platform to speak up for the Palestinian people". He cited Kneecap, The Murder Capital and Amyl & The Sniffers.
The Worthy Farm crowd started a chant of "free Palestine" before the frontman shouted "death, death to the IDF. He also said: "We are not pacifist punks here over at Bob Vylan Enterprises
"We are the violent punks, because sometimes you gotta get your message across with violence because that is the only language some people speak, unfortunately."
The duo also projected political slogans onto the screen behind them during the set. One read: "Free Palestine - United Nations have called it a genocide - the BBC calls it a 'conflict'."
The performance was followed by Kneecap who took aim at Rod Stewart for his recent comments in support of Nigel Farage. They also led festival crowds in chants of "F*** Keir Starmer".
Stewart said: "We're fed up with the Tories. We've got to give Farage a chance. He's coming across well."
He added: "What options have we got? I know some of his family, I know his brother, and I quite like him."
