Tyson Fury confirms exact Oleksandr Usyk trilogy date after retirement U-turn

Tyson Fury has confirmed the EXACT date and location for his trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk after confirming his boxing comeback.

The two-time heavyweight world champion shocked the sporting world back in January after announcing his retirement. However, after hinting that he may make a return to the ring, Fury's retirement - which lasted nearly six months - is all but over after Saudi boxing supremo Turki Al-Sheikh confirmed his return.

In a post uploaded to X - formerly known as Twitter - he wrote: "The 'Gypsy King' will be back!!! I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026...We have a rabbit to hunt!" And Fury quickly reposted that onto his own story, with the caption: "Let's see what 2026 brings," followed by multiple dollar signs and laughing faces.

Rabbit is the nickname Fury has given Usyk ahead of both of their fights - and the Brit has now officially revealed that the third fight between the pair will take place on April 18, 2026 at Wembley Stadium. The 36-year-old took to Instagram on Thursday morning and posted a fight poster of both him and the Ukrainian, along with the caption: April 18 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! The pair first went head-to-head last May for the undisputed heavyweight title. In an epic back-and-forth encounter, Usyk would go on to get his hand raised via split decision. Seven months later, the pair were back in the ring. The 'Gypsy King' started the trilogy on the front foot before eventually losing on points yet again to the Ukrainian.

Fury will have both eyes on Daniel Dubois' rematch with Usyk - which is scheduled to take place on July 19th at Wembley Stadium. Dubois was stopped by Usyk two years ago in a controversial bout in which the Brit was convinced he dropped Usyk only for his shot to be ruled a low blow. Fury's trilogy with the Ukrainian depends on the outcome of this month's heavyweight undisputed showdown. Should 'Triple D' come away with the win - Usyk may choose to exercise the immediate rematch plans which could ruin Fury's chances of a comeback.

In a recent media scrum with reporters, Fury insists he felt as if he did enough to win the fight. On Wednesday, he told reporters in Turkey: “My last fight was a clear f****** victory for The Gypsy King. Anybody in boxing can see that. A complete load of dogs***.

“I want a fair fight, I don’t want any favours, I want a fair fight and a fair result. Which I know I didn’t [get]. I thought I won it by five rounds. I watched it 250 times. Each way I never see it as a way for him to win. They can do what they want. If they say it’s Tuesday it’s Tuesday.”
