A young US police officer and army reservist has died just days after travelling from Louisiana to Florida to get a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) after suffering extreme pain following the cosmetic surgery.
Wildelis Rosa had arrived in South Florida for the procedure on March 18, but by March 23, she was dead.
The 26-year-old began having difficulty breathing and complained of losing sensation in her legs and feet just a few days after surgery. Her blood pressure dropped and three days after the operation, which she had got as a birthday treat, she collapsed in her bathroom. She was found unresponsive, subsequent CPR attempts were in vain, and she was pronounced dead the next morning.

One of her four older siblings, Anamin Vazquez, knew she had gone to Miami but only learnt about the surgery after it had happened.
She told local media: "You know, we had just that feeling in our guts, like something was wrong.
"I texted her and said, 'I hope you're doing okay, you're enjoying your birthday.' But there was no answer back."
Shortly before the surgery, Rosa had returned to the States from a deployment to Kuwait as a US Army Reservist. She had a "very bright and promising future" according to her sibling. On her plans for the future, Anamin revealed: "She wanted to work for the FBI."
She said her sister paid $7,495 (£5,488) to have fat removed from 12 areas and injected into her bum.
Her death was attributed to a pulmonary embolism caused by blood clots. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office ruled it to be an accident.
Anamin said: "I want her death to be, if anything, a cautionary tale for those who are thinking of having these surgeries."
Her former teacher Roger described Wildelis as one of the "sweetest, kindest, intelligent, caring, and compassionate people I have ever known".
He went on: "Her genuine care and empathy touched countless lives. I believe that is one of the reasons she went into the military and then became a police officer. She believed in helping people in her community, especially the ones that could not help themselves."
Rosa died in March, but her death was only reported on Monday.
According to a report from the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Officer, a friend staying with Rosa discovered her unresponsive and started CPR, but it was too late. The cause of death: a pulmonary embolism from blood clots associated with cosmetic surgery.
