Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday asked why documents issued by the government such as Aadhaar card, ration card, MNREGA job card, and others were not accepted in the special intensive revision of the electoral rolls, even if they proved one's identity or residence.

Tejashwi led a delegation of opposition parties that met Bihar chief electoral officer, and raised various issues related to SIR before him.

Tejashwi asked, "Does the Election Commission have the right to consider only 11 documents to add names to the voter list under the Bihar special intensive voter revision programme 2025? What is its constitutional and legal basis?"

Tejashwi said that while issuing the Aadhaar card, many documents of identity and residence including one’s iris, fingerprints were recorded, and so why the EC was excluding it now.

RJD leader said that more than four crore residents of Bihar were engaged in permanent or temporary jobs in other states. “Will they be able to verify themselves in 18 days? Is there any plan at the government level to bring them to Bihar?” he asked

He said that the Election Commission should tell everyone through the dashboard how many voters have been verified so far every day? How many voters' votes were rejected? If their intention is right, the Election Commission should give live realtime updates on this through the dashboard.
