Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): More than 60 artisans from Madhya Pradesh have showcased a variety of handloom and handicraft products at the ongoing ‘Sawan Mela’ at Gauhar Mahal in the city.
MP Handicraft and Handloom Development Corporation (MPHHDC) organised the 15-day exhibition which began on Saturday.
They have displayed the latest style of fashion of kurtis and dress material which is especially liked by young women and girls. A collection of traditional silk and cotton sarees are also exhibited.

The biggest attraction of the event is special cultural events for women based on the Sawan theme. Programmes like Jhula (swings), mehndi, traditional songs and folk dances are being organised here to make the joy of ‘Sawan’ month even more vibrant.
In-charge Arvind Sharma, said that the objective of the event is to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign ‘Local for Vocal.
It is also to provide a platform to the artisans of the state, where they can directly deliver their products to the customers as well as to promote the traditional arts of the state. The exhibition will remain open for visitors till August 10.
