Mumbai: In an early morning accident near Vanrai Police Station, a BEST wet lease bus operated by the Mateshwari group collided with a stationary truck, resulting in injuries to six passengers along with the bus driver and conductor. The incident took place around 6:30 AM when the bus, operating on Route No. 40/ and bearing registration number MH01EM5083, was traveling from Dindoshi to Sewree Bus Station.
According to preliminary reports, a private car suddenly veered onto the main road from a service lane, cutting across the path of the bus. In an attempt to avoid hitting the car, the bus driver swerved sharply, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into a parked truck with registration number RJ 12 GA 4756 on the left side of the road. The front portion of the bus sustained significant damage due to the impact.
The injured passengers have been identified as Ashraf Sahid Husen (66), Sitaram Gaikwad (60), Bharti Mandavkar (56), Sudhakar Rewale (57), Pochiya Naresh Kanpochi (30), and Amit Yadav (35). In addition to the passengers, both the bus driver and the conductor were hurt in the accident. Despite his own injuries, the conductor acted swiftly and arranged for all injured persons to be transported to Trauma Care Hospital for immediate treatment.
