On Day 4 of the second Test between India and England at Edgbaston, Rishabh Pant delivered a moment to remember not just for his big hitting, but for accidentally launching his bat into the air.
Pant was in top attacking form, scoring quick runs and frustrating the English bowlers. In the 34th over, while trying to play a powerful shot off England pacer Josh Tongue, his bat slipped from his hands and flew over square leg. The crowd erupted in laughter and cheers as the bat landed safely on the field.

At the time, India were under some pressure, but Pant turned the tide. He was unbeaten on 41 runs off 42 balls by lunch and shared a rapid 51-run stand with Shubman Gill. His fearless approach helped India extend their lead to 357 runs, putting them in a strong position.
Despite the funny bat-flying moment, Pant showed serious intent with his aggressive strokes, including boundaries and sixes. His entertaining innings brought energy back to India’s batting and made the Edgbaston crowd come alive.
