Actress Shruti Haasan recently shared her experience of working in Bollywood and South Indian cinema. She said that South stars are more humble and God-fearing than Bollywood stars.

Told the difference between South and Bollywood
In a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter, Shruti said that the level of awareness and spirituality is higher in South than in Bollywood. South actors remain humble because they feel that 'Saraswati's blessings should not go away from them.' Shruti said that small traditions are performed in the South, like keeping a coconut in the morning or keeping a picture of a deity on the set. Rules are followed on the set, and actors and staff take care of how they behave.
How is South better
Shruti further said that people in the South like simplicity. These people wear simple clothes and use old cars despite having a lot of money. She said, 'We are just a medium of art. A good film, story, or song is the real medium. Our job is to take art to the people.' Shruti further said that learning music and working with people for a long time helped her learn to stay humble and do her work with full hard work.
Shruti's career
Shruti has worked in Bollywood films like 'Luck', 'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji' and 'D-Day'. Recently she appeared in Rajinikanth's film 'Coolie', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film was released on 14 August 2025.
