Kia India has confirmed the launch date for its much-anticipated Carens Clavis. The model is ositioned above the standard Carens, and the price announcement will take place on May 23, 2025. The model will lock horns among a host of rivals including the likes of the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta . Here’s a quick look at the key highlights of the MPV.

The Carens Clavis features a revamped exterior, particularly the front fascia, featuring a sharper design inspired by Kia's global EV5. Up front, it sports a seemingly closed-off grille, complemented by sharper LED headlamps and an LED light bar. On the sides, it gets new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, designed with a star-inspired pattern.
Speaking of the interiors, the Carens Clavis features a host of upgrades as compared to the standard Carens. The cabin features 3-row seating with sliding and reclining second-row seats that include a one-touch electric tumble function for easy access to the third row. Kia has upgraded the tech suite with a 26.62-inch dual display, which integrates the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. There are ventilated front seats, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. Besides that, it also gets a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
In terms of safety and technology, the Carens Clavis is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which includes over 20 safety and driver assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, and front collision warning. The Clavis also comes with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), rear occupant alert, and a 360-degree camera for enhanced safety.
The Clavis will be available in seven different variants: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, and HTX+ and buyers can choose from a range of colours, including Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, and Clear White.
As for the powertrain options, the Carens Clavis will continue to offer three engine choices: a 1.5-litre NA petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic, and 7-speed DCT options.
