Many times people suddenly plan to go somewhere. Due to which tickets have to be booked in Tatkal. But now the rules have been changed by the Railways regarding booking tickets in Tatkal. Now Aadhar authentication has become mandatory for Tatkal booking. How will the Tatkal ticket be booked now? Know the whole process.
Aadhar OTP is necessary for Tatkal ticket booking
Now the rules have been changed by the Indian Railways regarding Tatkal ticket booking. Now you will be able to book Tatkal tickets from IRCTC website or mobile app only when your Aadhaar card is linked to your IRCTC account. This new rule has come into effect from today i.e. 15th July.
Let us tell you that now whenever you book Tatkal tickets, before that OTP will come on your mobile number linked to Aadhaar. You will be able to book only after entering it. Tatkal booking will not be possible without that OTP.
Link Aadhaar to IRCTC account in this way
If you have not linked Aadhaar to your IRCTC account. Then do it immediately, its process is very easy. First of all you have to login to the website www.irctc.co.in. You can also login to the app. After this you have to go to the My Account section. Then you have to select the option of Link Your Aadhaar. Here you have to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number.
And click on Generate OTP. After this OTP will come on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. By entering it, the verification process will be done. Your IRCTC account will be linked to Aadhaar. Not only this, let us tell you that if you book a ticket from the railway counter, there also you will have to give your Aadhaar number and complete the OTP verification.
