Chelsea have now dropped six points from winning positions in Premier League home games this season - the most of any side in the division.
Enzo Maresca's Blues took the lead against Sunderland AFC at Stamford Bridge after just four minutes on Saturday. Pedro Neto burst Regis Le Bris' backline with a pinpoint ball to Alejandro Garnacho from the centre of the park, allowing the 21-year-old to dribble past Nordi Mukiele with ease and slot the ball through Robin Roefs' legs and into the back of the net.
However, Wilson Isidor rained on Chelsea's parade just 18 minutes later to draw the game level once more off the back of Mukiele's long throw into the box.

While the hosts applied pressure from there on out, as Sunderland looked to take at least a point from the encounter, the Black Cats' defence proved too sturdy to be buckled.
Things took a turn for the worst for Chelsea three minutes into stoppage time. Lutsharel Geertruida picked the ball up in his own box before sailing it over the top to Brian Brobbey.
From there, the former Ajax forward ran into Robert Sanchez's box, before holding it up against two defenders while awaiting support.
That eventually came in the form of Chemsdine Talbi on the edge of the area, who coolly slotted the ball home first-time before wheeling off in celebration.
While Chelsea then scrambled to take at least a point from the fixture, it was unfortunately too little, too late for the Blues, who suffered a 2-1 defeat.
It's the second time this season that Chelsea have squandered a lead on home soil - something that Maresca will be eager to improve going forth.
The club took a 1-0 first-half lead over Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of September thanks to Enzo Fernandez, but found themselves up against it in the second period, when Trevoh Chalobah was sent off for bringing down Diego Gomez as the last man back.
Danny Welbeck levelled the match 77 minutes in, before Maxim De Cuyper won it for the Seagulls two minutes into extra time. Adding insult to injury, Welbeck then sealed his brace 10 minutes into time added-on to seal out a 3-1 win on the road.
As a result of patchy home form, Chelsea currently sit eighth in the Premier League standings after nine games, with four wins, two draws and three losses to show for their efforts.
The club now turn their attention to EFL Cup action against a struggling Wolves come Wednesday evening, before returning to Premier League action on Saturday, November 1 against Tottenham Hotspur.
They then face Qarabag FK in the Champions League, before finally returning to the Bridge for another clash with Wolves - this time in the Premier League.
